Privacy Policy

Application. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to the personal information we collect about you when you communicate with us, including through the Lussier & Khouzam website (our "Website"), or when we provide legal services to you. Please note that we do not collect any personal information from you simply by browsing our Website.

By providing us with personal information, such as your last name, first name, mailing address, e-mail address and telephone number, through our Website, our client information sheet, our e-mail, in person or by telephone, you consent to our collecting and retaining this information in order to communicate with you and, where applicable, open a file, perform our legal services for you and ensure the administrative and financial management of your file.

 

Processing and service provision. While processing your file, you agree that certain other personal information may be collected and stored by us for the sole purpose of providing our legal services, including:

• any ID or personal document (passport, driving license, etc.);
• any health information (medical record, diagnosis, consultation, medication, prescription, information on the cause of death, etc.);

• any other personal information concerning other persons, such as your customers, employees, directors, officers, shareholders or owners. You must ensure that you have obtained their prior consent for the purposes of such collection and retention.

We expressly acknowledge that we will not use your personal information for purposes other than those described above without your consent.

 

Your rights. Please note that you may contact us at any time, at the address indicated at the end of this policy, in order to:

• provide you with any additional information about our use of your personal information;
• provide you with a copy of the personal information we have collected from you;
• correct any inaccuracies in the personal information we have collected from you;
• withdraw your consent to the collection and processing of your personal information or otherwise delete, erase or anonymize your personal information subject to our rights in compliance with the law or in connection with any contractual agreement or in relation to claims;

Note that this reasonably necessary period may be seven (7) years following the collection of your information in order to comply with our ethical or tax obligations.  

At the end of this reasonably necessary period or if you withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information or request that it be deleted, we undertake, within a reasonable time considering technical and operational constraints, to:

• permanently destroy or erase your personal information regardless of format or medium. As such, we undertake to ensure that the destruction or erasure is carried out in a secure manner for digital media and, if applicable, by shredding for paper media; or
